The Gathering of Nations Song was written for and given to the Gathering of Nations in 1996, it was composed in the Diné (Navajo) language by Alan Neskahi Jr. & Arlie Neskahi.

The song was in honor of Alan Neskahi Sr. who was one of the first translators of the bible on the Navajo Reservation. As Alan Neskahi Sr. was translating the Old Testament, he heard some of the songs in the Book of Psalms written by King David and he really liked them. He said the words in them were allot like Indian words.
"He had a dream some day that indian people would sing this song." -- Arlie Neskahi

This gift to the Gathering of Nations is for all people to sing in celebration of Indian Culture. The song is sung every Saturday evening for the final Grand Entry at the largest gathering of Native People in North America.
